Growing up I spent much of my time exploring nature, fascinated with the complexity and beauty of life and the balance interwoven in ecosystems. Summers spent adventuring the back bays of New Jersey developed my particular interest in marine life. Furthering this interest at the age of 12 I went for my PADI diving certification, and next my underwater photography certification, then taking a housed 35mm film camera and diving the shipwrecks off the New Jersey coast. I continued to advance my dive certifications and later went on to study marine sciences and the arts at the University of Rhode Island, University of South Florida, University of Hawaii at Hilo, and the Bermuda Biological Research Station. My pursuits led me to working in environmental positions, on boats teaching marine science, adventure tourism, working hands-on with stingrays and underwater photography and video. With over 15 years in the professional photography sphere, and a continuing fascination with the natural world, I am exploring the deeper connection of humans with nature. Through photography and video, I intend to inspire others to honor our intricate relationship with all life, to look closer, and to reconnect through slowing down and cultivating a deeper understanding and appreciation.
